BEYOND BORDERS: DEBUT of NYAMBO MASAMARA: ACA at the JAFFER MODERN

The global debut,: BEYOND BORDERS marked the transition of fashion designer MASA MARA into artist NYAMBO MASA MARA, in collaboration with ACA.
A separate salon as part of a group exhibition at JAFFER MODERN.

JEANIUSXCHANGE, PETRUS SEKELE
Amazing Ace of JEANIUSXCHANGE creates hand-painted jackets, jeans and art2wear. Ace hails from Langa township and provides workshops for the neighbroughood's youth, in creativity and expression. ACE has featured on two MUSEUMSTOREAFRICA pop-ups in 2020: DESIGN INDABA and CANNABIS EXPO.
PETRUS SEKELE, from Limpopo, follows the wood-carving tradition (including walking-sticks) of the region, but adds ironic contemporary iconography rendered in vibrant contemporary painted designs. His, Ace's, Coast and Koi and Lalela's works are available through MUSEUMSTOREAFRICA.COM online

For the Jackson Hlungwani Retrospective Exhibition Alt and Omega at the Norval Foundation, we remastered a video documentary from 1987 on the acclaimed artist from rare footage produced by our team at that time.

MUSEUMSTOREAFRICA at THE JAVETT ART CENTRE
From launch 2019 to lockdown March 2020
For our own store, MuseumStoreAfrica, which was a seven-month pop-up / installation - from the launch of the Javett Art Centre in Pretoria in September 2019 to lockdown in March 2020, we created an optimal design environment for a bespoke range of 40-plus South African and African designer objects - from homeware to art2wear, each item is designed, created and curated locally and supports close to 850 households. The store moved online - also curated and designed by our team

A truly independent curatorial and advisory service: The team provides an independent and objective advisory service for private, commercial and corporate clients - from temporary installations and pop-ups to permanent collections.

With each project the unique objectives, environmental and social needs of the client are analysed, and a proposal provides the basis for the project. Each project incorporates extensive interaction with the client and/or end-users throughout research, design, implementation and delivery. Post curation services include ongoing collection curation, market valuation and sales.

CORPORATE CURATION: KEY PROJECTS
GE AFRICA INNOVATION CENTRE
The GE Africa Innovation Centre in Johannesburg South Africa was designed to be the home of Innovation for the global digital industrial organisation in Sub-Saharan Africa in 2016. Pur founder, consulted to the team on the localisation, conceptualisation, and implementation of environmental design, art and industrial design, signage and digital exhibition design - to facilitate ongoing Innovation projects. Completed in June 2016, the interior refit, by Paragon, has won critical acclaim, and awards (BASA) for Art and Innovation.

Over 150 items were commissioned, including
furniture from Peter Mabeo, David Krynauw, Goet, Egg Designs, Studio G.
​
The grand mural piece was a commissioned 3-storey mural by acclaimed wood artist Peter Mabeo, which extends from the exterior canopy to the interior reception.
​
The key to the success is the seamless and innovative integration of global and local, industrial and artisanal design (pieces) which allows the environment to be versatile, uplifting and inspirational.
